Abstract:  The subject of the booklet is the middle section of the east Frieze of the Parthenon. Depicted there is the culminating point of the celebration of the Panathenaia: the handing over of the peplos, the gift of the Athenians to the sacred xoanon, "fallen from heaven" (Διιπετές), the wooden statue of the goddess Athena. To the left and right of the scene, the twelve gods of Mt. Olympus are seated. The pupils try to identify the divinities and find their symbols. Information is given about the monument, and for each divinity an epithet and the animal and plant that was sacred to him/her.
